Program Overview

This scholarship is designed to support the spouse or legal guardian who accompanies a primary scholarship student abroad. The program enables the companion to pursue their own higher education qualification, thereby enhancing the family's academic and professional development while living overseas.

It contributes to human capital growth, supports family stability, and strengthens the Kingdom's competitiveness by empowering accompanying individuals to achieve recognized academic degrees.

Eligible companions may study a full-time Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or equivalent academic program at accredited universities located in the same country as the primary student's scholarship.

Entry Requirements

  • The companion must have obtained the previous academic level qualification or a recognized equivalent. If the certificate was issued outside the Kingdom, equivalency is required.
  • The companion must not have already been awarded a scholarship or completed a qualification at the same academic level.
The primary scholarship recipient must:
  • Be on a scholarship for an academic program (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, Fellowship)
  • Be actively studying and not in postponement status
  • Have a scholarship decision issued as a primary student, not as a companion
  • The companion must reside together with the primary scholarship recipient in the same country and university location.

  • The companion's scholarship automatically ends when the primary scholarship recipient's mission is completed or terminated.
